Administering Microsoft SQL & Azure SQL Database solution

Overview

Introduction

The Administering Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL Database Solutions program provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills to manage, secure, optimize, and automate SQL Server and Azure SQL environments. This course covers database deployment models (IaaS, PaaS), migration strategies, performance monitoring, query optimization, automation of administrative tasks, and high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) planning. With hands-on labs, participants will learn to provision resources, configure security, troubleshoot performance issues, and apply cloud-based administration practices. By the end of this training, attendees will be able to confidently administer SQL workloads both on-premises and in Azure, ensuring resilience, scalability, and compliance.

Who Should Attend

  • Database Administrators and SQL Server Professionals.
  • Cloud Administrators managing SQL in Azure environments.
  • IT Professionals responsible for database migration and management.
  • DevOps Engineers integrating SQL resources into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Data Engineers responsible for performance, automation, and HADR planning.
  • Professionals seeking to enhance their expertise in hybrid/on-cloud SQL environments.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:

  • Plan, deploy, and manage SQL Server and Azure SQL resources across IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments.
  • Implement security, authentication, authorization, and compliance controls for databases.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database and query performance.
  • Automate administrative tasks and configure alerts, notifications, and maintenance jobs.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies for resilient SQL workloads.
