Advanced Risk Management & Assessing Process Risk

Overview

Introduction

This advanced program equips participants with practical and analytical tools to identify, evaluate, and manage process-related risks in industrial operations. Participants will explore risk methodologies such as HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, Bow-Tie Analysis, and consequence modelling while understanding how risk tolerability criteria influence engineering decisions. The course also highlights human factors, barrier management, and real-world failure scenarios.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:

• Apply advanced risk assessment methodologies

• Conduct qualitative & quantitative risk evaluations

• Interpret LOPA, SIL & barrier performance

• Analyse process deviations & failure scenarios

• Implement risk-reduction and mitigation strategies

Main Modules

  1. Advanced process risk principles
  2. HAZOP & advanced deviation analysis
  3. LOPA & SIL determination
  4. QRA & consequence modelling
  5. Human factors in risk
  6. Barrier management & assurance
  7. Risk matrices, ALARP & tolerability
  8. Case studies from industry failures

Certification

All participants will be awarded a Program Completion Certificate from TRACEZ upon satisfying the following conditions:

  • 100% attendance and active participation in class and group discussions
