Fundamentals of Instrumentation Engineering and Design

Overview

Introduction

Instrumentation engineering forms the backbone of process control, automation and safe plant operations. This training introduces participants to essential concepts, field instruments, control system architecture, instrumentation drawings, and design calculations. It builds strong conceptual foundations with practical examples from oil & gas, petrochemical, and industrial plants.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of process measurement and control.
  • Identify and select appropriate field instruments for various applications.
  • Interpret instrumentation drawings such as P&IDs and loop diagrams.
  • Apply basic design requirements and sizing principles.
  • Understand installation, wiring, calibration and troubleshooting essentials.
