Mechanical Equipment Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis

Overview

Introduction

This 5-day intensive program equips maintenance and operations personnel with advanced skills to diagnose, analyze, and prevent mechanical equipment failures. The training covers systematic troubleshooting, vibration and performance analysis, root-cause techniques, failure mechanisms, lubrication issues, material degradation, and reliability improvement strategies. Participants will learn through real-world cases, diagnostic exercises, and engineering analysis methods used across oil & gas, petrochemicals, power, and heavy industries.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:

  • Apply systematic troubleshooting techniques for mechanical equipment.
  • Identify common failure modes in pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and rotating machinery.
  • Interpret vibration, temperature, and performance data for diagnosis.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) using structured methodologies.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to enhance reliability.
