Process Design Fundamentals- Module 2

Overview

Introduction

This module expands process design knowledge into intermediate-level design skills essential for FEED and detailed engineering. Participants will learn how to develop P&IDs, size process equipment, prepare safety documentation, understand relief systems, and work with process simulation tools. The course emphasizes how design decisions influence operability, safety, reliability, and compliance.

Who Should Attend

All participants will be awarded a Program Completion Certificate from TRACEZ upon satisfying the following conditions:

  • 100% attendance and active participation in class and group discussions
  • Submission of all continuous assessments (individual and group exercises)
  • Successful completion of the end-of-course assessment

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:

• Develop and interpret P&IDs and engineering documents

• Perform preliminary sizing of key process equipment

• Apply separation design principles (distillation, absorption)

• Understand relief system design and safety requirements

• Use simulation tools to support design decisions
